Life after porn

The career of an average female pornstar is about 2-3 years. The life of an “in-demand” one is 7-9 tops. Male performers can go on working, in some cases for decades, regardless of their stature. These are the statistics that insiders in the biz are stating since they have seen it all and understand what goes behind the scenes. But the question that no one poses when starting out is – how long is this going to last and is it going to last at all? They all enter in the porn business with aims to become a superstar, to earn enough cash to set them selves up for life and … then what? Here are some of the stories from some of the most recognizable faces that have went through the industry.

Asia Carrera

If you don’t know who she is, you’re out of this world. The 1st half-Asian that managed to become a superstar in the 90’s. After her porn career ended, Carrera moved to Utah where she currently resides and is a full time mommy as a single parent to two girls. She moved to Utah since porn is illegal there so no one could recognize her. She struggled with alcohol addiction, since she never dealt with the car accident death of her husband. In the 2000’s she was also recognized by MENSA as a member, an organisation that ignored her due to her past career.

Tyffany Million

The “dirty girl” who is a self-proclaimed “faker” currently works as a bounty hunter and is a private investigator for Skye-Lane Investigations. She was also the subject of a reality show “Wife, Mom, Bounty Hunter.” She is a proud mother of two kids and is married. She says that finding the right man made her leave porn and that it was the best thing she ever did. With the “faker” statement, she’s alluding to the fact that she always took porn in a matter of a fact way. You “fake” that you’re enjoying yourself during the scene and she did it in such a good way that most of her fans actually believed that she was for real.

Raylene

Raylene was one of Vivid’s former models who joined the company so that her “dirty” scenes become more elegant. During her career she had problems with drugs and as she says: “When hanging with rock-stars, and when you go to porn-parties, drugs are going to be a part of this world. It is not a safe place to be.” She left porn because of her daughter to become a real-estate agent, but later on, when she got hit by financial difficulties, she returned and has since done some scenes with her husband.

Houston

The Houston 500 or the queen of gang-bang. However you want to remember her, she is a legend and a record holder. After retiring, she had to leave Los Angeles and had to be as far as possible from L.A. since she was recognized wherever she went. She went into real-estate, but couldn’t hold the job because of her past career. She got fired from her job and a week later she was diagnosed with cancer. After a 2 year battle, she won and based on her recent Tweets it seems as if she’s doing webcam performances. She stated that she’s regretting the fact that she was in porn.

Amber Lynn

She was introduced to the industry by her brother Buck Adams. She had a shining 17-year career. During her life she had to deal with substance abuse and sobriety. After her brief career in real-estate she entered a treatment center for domestic violence after ending an abusive relationship with a man she met in AA. Now she’s clean and hosts the “Rock-N-SeXXXY Uncensored”.

Randy West

Randy got into porn through art and nude modeling. After he retired, he stated that the only regret he had during his career was that he never pursued Tera Patrick when he had the chance and that he never found that significant other. Currently he is competing in celebrity golf tournaments for charity and had a scary heart attack that he survived.
Richard Pacheco

Richard Pacheco

The Playboy’s “Man of the year” Richard Pacheco had a career that was admirable. His reasons for leaving porn was due to the fact that his wife was scared that he could get infected by AIDS, since the epidemic was beginning at that time in the 80’s when he was at his peak. If they died who would take care of their children, was what she was worried about and soon after that Richard left the industry. Now, he is collecting action figures and wrote a memoir called “Hindsight”. Not as glamorous sunset walk off, one would expect from such exotic and wild careers.
